What Does the Ultra S2 Offer in Everyday Workshop Use?

From fault code to verifiable cause: The diagnostic system allows you to read fault messages and measured values from supported control units. Live data can show, for example, whether a value changes plausibly under different operating conditions. A fault code alone does not prove which component needs to be replaced.

Active tests instead of just reading data: During bidirectional tests, the device sends a command to a supported component. You can then check how the component responds. The available components and procedures depend on the vehicle.

Make electrical signals visible: The 4-channel oscilloscope integrated into the VCMI2 displays voltage signals over time and allows multiple signals to be compared. This can help investigate intermittent faults or implausible signal patterns. The multimeter complements this with individual electrical measurements. Test leads and accessories must be suitable for the respective measurement task.

Compare Live Data and Document Repair Results

Multiple parameters can be displayed and compared graphically. Recorded measurements help identify relationships and intermittent deviations. Comparing values before and after a repair helps verify the result; the exact range of available functions depends on the vehicle and software.

What Requirements and Additional Equipment Should Be Considered?

• Vehicle coverage: Check the make, model, model year, engine and required function before purchasing. Support for a vehicle brand does not mean that all coding, programming and EV testing functions are available for every model.
• J2534 programming: Use with manufacturer software requires a suitable PC, compatible OEM software and the necessary manufacturer access and licenses. A suitable stable vehicle power supply is required during programming operations.
• EV and measurement technology: Depending on the task, suitable adapters, measurement equipment or additional EV equipment may be required. The package contents listed here do not constitute a complete equipment set for every high-voltage test.
• Extensions: TBE200, ITS600 and other supplementary devices are included only when explicitly listed in the package contents. Remote services may require additional activation or involve additional costs.
• Updates and language: Two years of software updates are included. This does not constitute a guarantee as to when AI functions will become available in additional languages.
