Description
LAUNCH BST-360 – Bluetooth battery tester for your X-431 scan tool
The LAUNCH BST-360 turns your X-431 into a battery tester. Clip it onto the battery, open the BST-360 app under Toolbox on your X-431 – and after about three seconds you know whether the battery is good or needs replacing. It also checks the starter and charging system, and the result can go straight to the customer as a report.
Three tests, one clear result
- Battery testMeasured cold cranking amps, state of health and a “Good” or “Replace” result – faulty cells are detected too
- Cranking testChecks whether the battery holds enough voltage while starting
- Charging testChecks whether the alternator charges the battery properly
It is based on a conductance test that determines the battery’s actual cold cranking capability. The battery doesn’t need to be fully charged before testing, and automatic temperature compensation keeps results comparable even in winter. Battery and starting/charging system can be checked in one go. Results can be displayed, printed and exported.
Which batteries?
The BST-360 tests 6V, 12V and 24V systems – cars, motorcycles, ride-on mowers and agricultural machinery, Group 31 batteries and commercial vehicles. Supported types are flooded, AGM flat plate and spiral, and gel batteries. Reverse polarity protection keeps the tester, vehicle and battery safe if the clamps are connected the wrong way round, and the tester helps prevent sparks when clamping on. Compact and lightweight, it fits in any toolbox.
