THINKCAR CAN FD Adapter – diagnostics for vehicles with a CAN FD bus
Newer GM, Audi, BMW, MINI, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles communicate via CAN FD, a faster evolution of the classic CAN bus. Older diagnostic interfaces don’t understand this protocol – the control unit simply doesn’t respond. The THINKCAR CAN FD adapter sits between the OBD port and your THINKCAR scan tool and establishes the connection.
How to connect it
- Plug into the vehicleInsert the side with the 16-pin OBD connector into the vehicle’s OBD-II port.
- Connect your scan toolConnect the other side to your THINKCAR scan tool.
- Check the indicatorSolid red light: the adapter is powered on. Flashing blue light: data is being transferred.
- Start diagnosticsRead fault codes, live data and special functions as usual.
