The Autel MaxiSys Ultra is a diagnostic system for automotive workshops and diagnostic technicians that combines ECU diagnostics with electrical measurement technology. The 12.9-inch tablet comes with the MaxiFlash VCMI, featuring a 4-channel oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator and CAN bus tester. This allows you to check not only what the ECU reports, but also what is actually happening electrically at the component.

Practical Example: Crankshaft Sensor Fault
A fault code tells you that the signal is missing or implausible – but not whether the sensor, wiring or trigger wheel is responsible. The MaxiSys Ultra helps you narrow down the cause:
- Check Fault Memory and Freeze FrameThe engine control unit reports a crankshaft signal fault. Freeze Frame data shows the conditions under which the fault occurred.
- Check Live DataIs an engine speed signal reaching the ECU while cranking?
- Measure the Signal with the OscilloscopeUsing the VCMI, the sensor signal can be recorded directly at the connector. Missing teeth, signal interruptions or insufficient amplitude can be identified in the waveform.
- Determine the CauseA clean signal at the sensor but no signal at the ECU indicates that the wiring should be checked. A distorted signal directly at the sensor indicates that the sensor or trigger wheel should be inspected.
